Goal: Bookmark Page and check Google Analytics
Pick a different bookmarking service than we did on Day #7 which was Digg and bookmark your website. Open up your Google Analytics to make sure it is working properly.
Bookmark Site
- Setup an account at http://delicious.com
- Click ‘Join Now’; you can sign in with a Yahoo account
- Review your profile – check display name; link to your account and decide if you want to bookmark with you Firefox browser (you can skip this step)
- Click ‘Skip this Step’ and click ‘save a new bookmark’
- Paste in your URL (of your website) and click ‘Next’
- Fill in the Title (include keyword), Notes and Tags and click ‘Save’
That’s it! You have bookmarked with Delicious.
Google Analytics
- Go to http://www.google.com/analytics/ and click ‘Access Analytics’
- You should see some statistics – even if it is ‘0’ visitors. If you see a clock or a caution sign then you probably need to see what is wrong.NOTE: Let me repeat, this is second to keywords. If you are serious about building a business and increasing site traffic you need to know how your website it performing and how different tweaks affect your outcomes.
